Advanced and Competitive Obedience
This level of training should be the goal of all dog owners. It optimizes the utility of the family
companion as well as affords the dog liberties not available to lesser managed dogs.
Obedience training for those who are interested in competing in AKC Title Obedience events is available
as well.
In preparation for Level II Obedience a dog must first possess the fundamentals of Level I (Basic
Obedience) and a CGC certificate. A Level I test is preformed to determine the dogs fitness for more
advanced work and the CGC evaluation is done at this time if the dog does not already possess a CGC
certificate. For more information on the AKC's Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certificate, link here.
This level of training requires time and dedication of the owner to the same level expected of the dog. We
can accomplish this by either working with the owner and dog as a team or in a boarding and training
program. Owners who wish to compete with their dogs are encouraged to work directly with the trainer
and dog to build the foundations required for successful competition
