The AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy class is open to any breed or mix breed dog. The age requirements are: any dog old enough to have received all required
vaccinations, including rabies up to one year of age. Dogs need to be in good health and parasite free.
The first class is held without the dogs in attendance. At that class you will need to bring your proof of vaccinations and we will cover the course lessons and
you will receive the S.T.A.R. hand out for review.
The next class we begin with training and socialization of the puppies. Treats are allowed for lure and reward. There will be a total of 6 training sessions with
you and your puppy.
The cost is $85 and includes the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy documentation.
This class will cover:
Manners in and away from the home.
Puppy problems and planning for the future with good behavior now.
Leash walking.
Coming when called.
"Wait"
Sit.
Down.
"Back"
Stay.
Educationally based for you and your dog, taught by an AKC Certified Trainer with over 30 years experience.
AKC license #19855 expires January 31st, 2013
Following the last class we will complete the S.T.A.R. Puppy certification.
Upon completing the course requirements participants will receive:
The AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Medal for display
Be listed in the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy records
A frameable certificate with your designation in the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy records
AKC puppy hand book
Discount to enroll in the AKC CAR (Companion Animal Recovery) Corp. A 24 hour recovery service.
On going monthly news letter, "Your AKC" which includes training tips, and up to date information for all dog owners.
And the satisfaction of knowing you and your new companion are off to a great start!

| Per-registration is recommended as there is a class limit of 6 dogs. As this is a class setting we are unable to offer make up classes so plan to attend all classes to qualify for the AKC S.T.A.R.
