Competitive Obedience Training
I offer drop-in classes for those wishing to train for competitive obedience titles with the AKC. This class is for those working towards a
CD (Companion Dog) title.

This class is open to all breeds including mixed breed dogs as mixed breeds are now eligible to compete in AKC obedience and
performance events. Per AKC regulations, mixed breed dogs must be neutered to compete.

Classes are held on Wednesday evenings at 7pm during the summer and 5:30 pm during the winter.

Classes will be held in varying locations to prepare you and your dog for the things they may encounter during an AKC event.

This is not a beginning obedience course and not for dogs that have not completed obedience training! It is for those wishing to polish
and refine the commands needed to acquire the CD title and wish to work in a setting to accomplish this in a precise an successful
manner.

I have successfully titled dogs in AKC obedience trails and can instruct based on the AKC guide lines for such.

Dogs and owners attending must be willing and able to follow the AKC guide lines for this class.

Class requirements are:
All dogs must were an approved collar; buckle collars and slip (choke collar) with nothing hanging from them, such as tags, etc.. are
permitted. No pinch, electric, head or other correction or training collars or aides are allowed.

Dogs must be on fabric or leather leash and need be only long enough to provide adequate slack during the heel on leash exercise.

Owners must wear appropriate foot wear, no sandals or flip flops are allowed at this class.

Dogs should be off leash trained and prepared for this class.

Females in season are not permitted. If your female comes into season you will have to wait until she is fully out before returning to class.
This is the same rule set by the AKC for competing in Obedience and Rally trials.

Owners should have the AKC handbook of Obedience Regulations. If you do not have one I can provide it for $10.

You may come to as many or few classes as you like.

Cost for the drop-in class is $15 per class. The class is one hour long and will begin on time. A discount of $5 per class will be given to
those that completed advanced obedience training with The Practical Dog "Good Dog" Training.
